THE CARE AND FEEDING OF YOUR PET DRAGON

By: Sharonda McPhee

QUIRKY LIZARDS

Just like with any pet, bearded dragons have characteristics that make them stand out from other pets. Their characteristics include:

  • Standing in their water bowls and walking all over their food.
  • Dragons wave their arms (a sign that they are happy)
  • Bobbing their heads to show their dominance over other lizards and to find mates.
  • Bearded Dragons will often dig in the sand and bury themselves during the winter to hibernate. They may also dig to lay their eggs.
  • These lizards are also curious. You may find that they will stare at you for a long time. Bearded dragons pay special attention to their surroundings. They want to know what’s going on. Even when you talk to them, they look at you. Talk about a lizard with manners!
