Check out Krumbs' latest blog!

Hi Everyone;

My camera is so awesome.  I’ve already began taking some pictures.  Some where good and some not so good (my thumb was in the way on a couple).  But you know what’s so great about a digital camera?  You can erase the pictures that didn’t turn out.

Want to check out my pictures?  Visit Klub Krumbs where I’ve posted some.  They’re really cool.  I mean REALLY.  It was so much fun.

Gotta go take some more pictures.

Bye for now!

Hi Everyone

I am soooo excited.  I just had to tell you.  I got a digital camera!  It’s not brand new, but it’s super-cool.

I love taking photographs and when I do, I’ll share them with you.  But first I have to learn how to use my camera.  It shouldn’t be too hard…I hope.

Gotta go and practice, practice, practice J

Hi Everyone:

What a great day.  Yesterday I gave Krumbs his bath.  He sure didn’t like it.  But I told him it was for his own good and was better than having fleas.  He agreed and finally sat still and let me suds him up.

After his bath I blow-dried his fur…he liked that.  Then we had a snack at the café and read some of the great articles.  You should too.  It’s fun!!

Hi Everyone.  How’s it going today?

I checked out Krumbs and I’m happy to report no fleas.  But I think I will find some shampoo made just for repelling fleas and give him a bath.  I know…he won’t like it one bit, but it’s better than having those skittery bugs crawling in his fur and making him scratch.

Besides, it won’t be so bad.  He’ll be all shiny, clean and ready to get busy on our next project or adventure.  I better go...

Have a great day,

Cookie

Hi Everyone.  Cookie here.

I found out some really interesting facts about fleas.  I know…fleas…ewwww.  But it’s really important to know about fleas, especially if you have a dog or cat.

Here’s what I learned:

Fleas have been around for about 100 million years.  Maybe they even lived on a dinosaur

Fleas only jump, they don’t fly.

Fleas can jump 150 times their own length.  If we could do that we could jump over a skyscraper. Cool

Fleas only live for about 90 days

Girl fleas can lay 2,000 eggs in her lifetime.  That means if 53 million dogs in the U.S. each had 60 fleas, they’d have more than six trillion flea eggs. If we could lay them end-to-end, those eggs would stretch around the world more than 76 times!  WOW!!  That’s a lot of fleas.

I think I should go find Krumbs now and make sure he doesn’t have any fleas.

See ya later

Hi Everyone.  Cookie here.

Guess what?  I saw the neatest thing – A crow was tugging on some really long, dried out grass.  It pulled and pulled and kept piling it into its mouth until it had a big clump.  Then it flew away.

That’s going to be one HUGE nest.  Maybe, I’ll get to see it once it’s all built.  I hope so.  Have you ever seen a bird’s nest?  If so stop by the café’s ‘open mic’ and tell me about it.  Hey you can even submit a picture if you have one.  I’d love to see it.

Spring

Hello Everyone.  It’s officially spring time and you know what that means – flowers are blooming and birds are starting to build there nests.

Did you know you could help the birds construct their nests?  And all it takes is knowing what they need.

Birds use all sorts of things to make nests.  I like to collect small twigs, dead leaves, pine needles and bark for our birds.  I just place them in small piles all around our backyard.

You can also use the lint from your dryer…this is super fluffy and nice for the inside of the nest.  If you have craft paper lying around, cut it into 5 cm by 15 cm strips and scatter it around your lawn.  You can do the same thing with bits of yarn or string.  Shredded paper works well too.

If you have a dog or cat, now would be a great time to brush them.  The birds love to pick up big gobs of pet hair and use it in their nests.

Got to go.  I think Krumbs needs brushing.

See you later

Hi Everyone.  How’s it going?

I just got back from the Café.  Krumbs and I are doing some spring cleaning over there.  It’s gotten so dusty, but we’ve been busy busy tidying things up for you.

We dusted off the articles and straightened up the games room.  We even made sure all the quizzes and recipes were in place.  It was loads of work, but worth it.  Now everything is sparkly-clean.

Have you ever had to clean up something, maybe your room or your closet?  Did you have fun?  I’m guessing you didn’t.  But I bet after you were finished you were happy you did it – things are so much better when they’re polished and put away.

I think I may give Krumbs a bath too since we’re making things shine today.

See ya

Hi Everyone.  How are you?

Ooooooo I’m not so great.  I ate too much Easter chocolate.  Now my tummy feels all whoozy.  Have you ever done that?  I hope not.

Our Easter egg hunt was so much fun.  Eggs were hidden everywhere.  I even found one way up in the tree.  But that’s okay, cause I love climbing trees.

I found 22 eggs altogether and Krumbs only found 11…I think he was just being nice so I could find more.  So I hid some extra special dog cookies for him – they were chocolate covered.  But not real chocolate cause that’s bad for dogs.

That’s it for now.  I have to go lie down and hope my tummy feels better.

Happy Easter Everyone, how are you?

Wow we just had April Fools Day and now it’s Easter.  BTW, I really fooled Krumbs with the whole dolphin trick.  He was so upset.  I think he thought we wouldn’t be pals anymore.  That’s just silly.  He’s my best-bud…well other than all you out there in cyber-land.  You’re the BEST!

Easter is really early this year.  Did you know the day Easter falls on changes?  It’s because Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon of Spring.

I don’t mind though.  We’re having an Easter egg hunt.  It’s going to be so much fun.  Except I don’t think Krumbs should get to play.  With his super-sniffer, he’s sure to find all the eggs before me.

That’s it for now.  Talk to you later and have a great Easter.

Cookie

April Fools.

Sorry I tricked you, but today is April Fools day and I thought I’d have some fun.  You didn’t really think I was getting a dolphin, did you?  That would be silly and super hard to look after.

I think I’ll go find Krumb and fool him with the pet dolphin trick...shhh don’t tell him.

Until next time Happy April Fools Day.

Guess What?  I’m so excited!  Since I had so much fun swimming with the dolphins, my Mom said I can have my very own dolphin.  We’re going to build a huge pool and everything.  I can feed it fish and teach it tricks.  Plus, I can ride it just like a pony!

Okay as promised I’m back to talk about swimming with the dolphins.  First of all dolphins aren’t fish.  No they’re actually mammals which mean they breathe air like us.  But instead of their nose they use a blow hole in their heads…I wonder what that would be like?

The dolphins live in a huge enclosure right in the ocean, so it’s just like their real home. In order to play with them I first had to put on a life-jacket.  After I was all buckled in, I jumped in the water.  Two dolphins swam right over to me.  At first I was bit nervous, but they were so friendly.  One of them stuck his fin out for me to give it a shake.  I also got to feed them fish and take a ride…or more like a pull.  I hung onto their top fins and they zoomed around, pulling me behind.

This was a blast.  If you’re ever in Mexico you should play with the dolphins too.

That’s all for now!

Hi everyone.  How are you?  I know, I know, it’s been forever since I’ve blogged.  I’ve been busy, busy, busy.  My trip to Mexico was so cool.  Krumbs didn’t get to go.  He was NOT happy about that.  Instead, he stayed with our neighbours.  They really spoiled him.  He got dog cookies everyday!

Anyway, back to Mexico.  The weather was so warm, I swam all the time in a crystal blue swimming pool.  The people were really cool too.  Did you know that Mexico has around 111 million people?  And that during the daytime, when it’s super hot, they take naps?  I didn’t sleep, I had too much to do to snooze away the afternoon.

As a souvenir, I got a Mexican hat called a sombrero.  It’s got a really wide brim and has funky red designs all over it.  It’s so COOL.

I even got to swim with the dolphins.  WAY COOL!  Come back again and I'll tell you all about it.

That's it for now.

June 13 (Ooooh, it's Friday the 13th!)

Hi everybody!  How are you doing?  So, what's going on with me these days?  Check this out!

I know I haven't written in a while, but that's because I've been so busy.  Things have really been cooking here at the cafe, and Krumbs and I are loving it!

Well, I guess the reason things have been so busy at the cafe is that it's summer vacation.  I love summer!  It's awesome to get a nice long break from school.  Hey, want to know what I'm doing during summer vacation this year?  I'm going to Mexico with my whole entire family!  We're going to have so much fun, I just know it.

I didn't win that helicopter contest I talked about earlier.  But hey, it was a nation-wide contest, and I think I was close to winning it for sure.

Next time I write, I'll tell you what Mexico was like!

That's all for now!  Talk to you later!

Love,Cookie

April 1(Happy April Fool's Day!)

Hey! What's up? Want to know what's happening with me? Check it out!

St. Patrick's Day has come and gone. That means I just had my birthday, too. This year I turned 11. Want to know what I really wanted? A horse, of course! That's all I've ever really wanted since I was two-years-old. It would be the ultimate birthday gift.

Want to know what I've always wanted to do? I've always wanted to go up in a helicopter. It would be so great, not like an airplane where it's all stuffy inside and there are a bunch of people snoring. I'd rather be 7,000 feet up in the air, just hovering there. But I wouldn't be afraid.

I'm going to enter a contest to win a helicopter ride. It's a writing contest. I hope I win. You never know until you try. That's what Krumbs says, anyhow.

Have you entered Imagination Cafe's Creative Contests yet? If not, you should do it!!

.That's all 4 now. C U L8R!

Love,

Cookie

February 3

Hi!  Cookie here.  So, what's up with me?

Check it out!

Did I ever tell you that I'm a good artist?

Well, I am, if I do say so myself.  But the most exciting thing happened yesterday.  I won my school's annual art contest!  My drawing, which was of Krumbs and me holding cookies, is going to be on the cover of the yearbook!  I am so excited!

There's a stray cat that keeps sleeping in our cafe.  All day it keeps hanging around the kitchen.  It's a nice, black, friendly cat, but Krumbs does not like cats at all.  I know he would be mad if I kept the cat.

I've been bringing it to the shelter to try to find a home for it, but so far, no takers.  I'm really hoping that someone adopts the cat soon.

That's all for now.  Talk to you later!

Love,

Cookie

January 10

Hey! It's me, Cookie. Want to know what's going on with me? Check it out!

It's a new year! New years are great because they're like a totally fresh start. Also, I got to stay up 'til 12:00 midnight when we were counting down to the new year. Yeah!

I stopped over at the horse barn with my new digital camera. (Did I tell you I got it??) I took some amazing pictures of the horses. Even Krumbs told me that my pictures were good.

Guess what? My plan for giving out pictures of the animals at the shelter has been working! More and more animals are being adopted and going to good homes. You might think that the shelter would have no more animals if this keeps happening, but that isn't true. More animals are brought in every day. But, I'm getting confident that every one of them will find a good home.

Happy New Year!

Love,

Cookie

December 30

Hi! It's me, Cookie. Want to know what's up with me? Check it out!

First of all, something really exciting happened to me. I got the job as a volunteer at the animal shelter!  Now, I know that means a lot of hard work without getting paid, but I don't care. Cooking and animals are my two favorite things, and I'm glad that I have the chance to be involed with both of them.

Number one on my holiday wish list was a digital camera. Like I've told you before, I loooove horses. Well, i got my wish! Think what a beautiful photograph I could snap while watching the horses run. Also, I can take pictures of the animals at the shelter. Then, I can show them to people who are looking for pets. Maybe I'll even post some pictures on my blog! That way, they have a better chance of finding a home.

Hope your holidays rocked!

Love,

Cookie

November 12

What's up? It's me, Cookie. Want to know what's happening here? Check it out!

Remember that horse, Midnight, that I was talking about? Well, someone else bought her. That's okay though, because I did earn a lot of money selling dog treats. I think I'll donate the money to the animal shelter instead.

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I love to read. Other than the cafe, the library is the place where I hang out most often. Anyway, I checked out some great books recently. They're called, "Princess Academy," and "The Ocean Within." You should seriously consider reading them.

Well, that's all for now. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

November 6

Hey, everybody! I’m Cookie, and I want to tell you what’s up with me.

The other day, Krumbs and I were baking chocolate chip cookies. I made Krumbs a bone-shaped cookie with no chocolate. (Heads up: dogs can’t have chocolate). That Krumbs! He swallowed the cookie whole!

So here's the other thing that's happening. I love to ride horses. When I went over to a ranch to ride some the other day, I saw the most beautiful horse. Her name was Midnight. And guess what? She was for sale! I wanted to buy Midnight sooo badly. But I didn’t have the money. What could I do?

Then I came up with an idea. I could sell homemade dog treats. Krumbs really likes my treats, and I’m sure that other dogs would like them too.

Midnight, here I come!
