Brad Pitt
Most
people know Brad Pitt for his good looks and star power, and as
one of the highest paid actors of all time. He actually caught
the acting bug when he was in high school, where he starred in lots of musicals.
But did you know that he was a jock, sparred on
the debate team, and even dabbled in politics? Or how about
the fact that to support acting lessons in Hollywood, he dressed
up like a giant chicken at a restaurant where he worked as
a waiter?
It's true, Brad
kind of had a slow start. He attended the University of Missouri
where he majored in journalism and was a member of the Sigma
Chi fraternity. But just two credits shy of graduating, he
followed his heart and left for Hollywood to try his luck
at acting.
But it wasn't until
the late 1980's when his acting career finally took off. His
first break came when he starred in Dallas. Soon
he also had roles in Thirty Something, 21 Jump
Street, and Growing Pains. But his big break
came in 1991 when he landed a starring role in the year's
hit movie Thelma & Louise.
Brad has starred in
over 30 movies since then!
In
Brad’s Own Words
Brad’s Midwestern
roots keep him grounded. The following quote from Brad puts it all in perspective:
"I phoned
my grandparents and my grandfather said, 'We saw your movie.'
'Which one?' I asked.
My grandfather shouted, 'Betty! What was the name of that movie I didn't
like?’”
